Arkansas Times
Web Site: http://www.arktimes.com/
Little Rock is the economic, political and cultural center of Arkansas, with almost half of the state's 2.5 million residents living within 50 miles. Little Rock's alternative weekly is the 25-year-old award-winning Arkansas Times, known locally for its knowledgeable political, entertainment and consumer coverage. Stories have included the account of an Arkansas woman who received 20 years in prison for killing her rapist. The Times has also made several forays into civic journalism including a recent 12-page pull- out section that urged city leaders to transform one of Little Rock's unused bridges into our own Ponte Vecchio, a landmark and symbol of a newly renovated downtown area. The newspaper carries a number of unique sections including a monthly homes supplement, book section, quarterly health sections, restaurant and arts guides.
Arkansas Times delivers an influential, affluent, college-educated readership that tends to be very involved in local civic issues, charities, and cultural organizations.
