The High Plains Reader is published weekly from its offices in downtown Fargo, and is available free of charge at designated distribution outlets in North Dakota and Minnesota. The Reader was founded in Grand Forks and expanded to Fargo in 1997, where its home office is now based. High Plains Reader is the fifth highest circulated paper in North Dakota and is the region's only alternative newsweekly.
